●FeaturesoftheDegreeProgramInordertoprovidestudentswithsystematiceducation,itisnecessarytostrengthenthesystematicdevelopmentofedu-cationinlinewiththepurposeofthecurriculum-basedgraduateschoolsystem,whichawardsaspecicdegreetothosewhohavecompletedagivencourseofeducation.Thisprogramaimstovalidategraduateschooleducationthroughthefollowingmeasures.1.ReinforcementoftheinterconnectionbetweenMaster'sandDoctoralprogramsThiscourseisdividedintoMaster'sandDoctoralprograms,buthasauniedve-yeareducationalcurriculum.Inaddition,incooperationwiththeCollegeofEngineeringSystems,weprovideanintegratededucationalprogramforsixyears(un-dergraduate+Master'sdegree)ornineyears(undergraduate+Master’sdegree+Doctoraldegree)todevelopengineersandresearcherswhomeettheneedsofthetimes.Evenifastudententersatthelevelofthemaster'sprogramortheDoc-toralprogram,itispossibletoreceivealmostthesameeducationbytakingadditionalbasicmathematicscourses,under-goingremedialeducation,andconductingspecialexperiments.2.CurriculumorganizationfocusingonresearchskilldevelopmentInadditiontospecializedsubjectsaimedatacquiringspecializedknowledgeineacheld,coresubjects,basicmathemat-icssubjects,toolexercises,Englishexercises,andspecialexercisesareprovidedascommonsubjectsinordertoenhanceresearchskills.3.MultiplesupervisorsystemThisprogramhasamulti-advisorsystemunderwhicheachgraduatestudenthasonesupervisorandtwoassistantsuper-visors.Studentscanparticipateinresearchactivitiesnotonlyintheirownlaboratory,butalsoinseminarsledbytheassis-tantsupervisors,andreceiveguidancefromtheassistantsupervisorsduringgraduateschoolseminars.4.GraduateschoolseminarsWhenstudentspresenttheirresearchinthisprogram,questionandanswerssessionsareconductedtofacilitatediscus-sionofthepresentedwork.Thesesessionsareheldweeklyinamultidisciplinaryfashionwherepresentersreceivefeed-backthroughcommentsandquestionsfromsupervisors,otherprofessors,andstudents.Inaddition,aposterpresenta-tiontakesplaceattheendofthefallsemester.Alongwithfacultymembersandstudents,manycompanyrepresentativesattendthispresentation,whichservesasajob-huntingevent.5.CooperativeGraduateSchoolSystemTsukubaScienceCityishometoavarietyofresearchinstitutionsbesidestheUniversityofTsukuba.Anetworkforactivescienticexchangehasbeenconstructedamongalltheseinstitutions.Throughthisprogram,adegreecanbeobtainedbyreceivingresearchguidancefromfacultymembers(CooperativeGraduateSchoolProgram)oftheNationalInstituteofAdvancedIndustrialScienceandTechnology(AIST).6.Dualdegreeprogram(DDP)ThiscourseallowsstudentstoenrollintheDoctoralprogram(maindegreeprogram),whileconcurrentlyenrollinginasub-degreeprogramenablingthemtoparticipateinaMaster'sprogram,aprofessionaldegreeprogramoeredbyotherresearchgroups,orotherdegreeprograms.TheDDPallowsstudentstoobtainaMaster'sdegreecorrespondingtoan-otherdegreeprogram.7.ActivepromotionofearlycompletionEarlyCompletionDoctoralProgramforWorkingPeople:OurcurriculumallowsstudentstocompletetheDoctoralprograminaminimumofoneyear.Earlycompletionprogramforgeneralstudents:StudentswhohaveachievedoutstandingresearchresultsintheMaster'sprogram,completedthecoursewithexcellentgrades,andproceedtotheIMISDoctoralprogramhavetheopportunitytoshortentheMaster'sprogrambyoneyear.StudentsshowingoutstandingachievementsduringtheDoctoralprogram,areoeredthepossibilitytocompletetheirstudiesinoneyearatleast.AstudentwhocompletetheMaster’scourseearlyandshoweligibilitytocompletehis/herDoctoralcourseearlymustbeenrolledforatleasttwoyearsintheDoctoralprogram.8.DaytimeandeveninglecturesInresponsetosocialdemands,theUniversityofTsukubahasestablishedthersteveninggraduateschoollecturesin23
