Tuition and Entrance Fees

Entrance fee: 282,000 yen
Tuition fee: 535,800 yen per year (as of 2014)

Those students who demonstrate excellent academic records and face financial difficulties may be exempt from half or all of the tuition fee. Most of the scholarship programs are provided by the Japan Student Services Organization. There are also many student loan programs provided by local public entities and private educational organizations. Almost all applicants in doctoral programs are supported by the student loans from the Japan Student Services Organization.

Those students who are employed as a fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science are given a monthly stipend of 200,000 yen (amount in 2014), as well as a qualification for applying for a research grant (Grant-in-Aid for JSPS Fellows).

Teaching assistantship and research assistantship are available for excellent graduate students. The assistantships serve as training opportunities to become educators and researchers.
