Information about Research Student

International students generally have two ways to enter into universities in Japan: one is entering into universities as "research student (non-regular student)" before being admitted as graduate student (regular student), another is attending the entrance examination directly. It is recommended to be a "reserch student" frist in our graduate school. Please see here related to "reseach student".

Notification for Reserch Student Applicants by Departments

Month of the entrance for research students were April and September by the end of FY2007. From FY2008, December was newly added as the period of entrance. You can find how to obtain the list of the entrance requirements at the web page of International Student Center (http://www.intersc.tsukuba.ac.jp/01prospective/classifications_kenkyusei.htm) and you will be requested to submit the application form to the Center. But, some departments in the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering request some additional document(s) such as "academic advisor assignment" in advance. So please see the following web pages of the departments in our school and ask the prospective advisor after checking the web page of the International Student Center as well.
